Account Management

This guide covers everything related to managing your CaratX seller account — from updating your profile to understanding your tier limits. --- ## Your Profile Your profile is edited at **My Account → Edit Profile** (`/profile/edit`). ### What you can update - **Name** — Your display name shown on orders and messages (first and last name are stored separately; enter your full name in the field) - **Email address** — Used for login and all notifications; must be unique across the platform - **Phone number** — Optional contact number; accepts international formats including country code - **Profile image** — JPEG, PNG, or GIF up to 10 MB; replaces the previous image automatically ### How to save changes Fill in the fields you want to update and click **Save Profile**. You do not need to re-enter your password to make profile changes. If you change your email address, a verification link will be sent to the new address. Your old email remains active for login until the new one is confirmed. --- ## Seller Tiers Explained Every seller account is assigned a tier. Suitable for trying out the platform or selling a small number of items occasionally. With 15% transaction fees and a 20-listing cap, the Free tier is intentionally limited to encourage growth into paid tiers. ### Basic — $98/month A significant step up for active sellers. The listing cap of 400 covers most small-to-medium inventories, and the fee drop from 15% to 12% means meaningful savings on every sale. Bulk upload tools and promotional tools become available, and you get basic analytics showing sales volume and top-performing items. ### Professional — $198/month Designed for established sellers with large or frequently rotating inventories. The 6.5% transaction fee is less than half the Free tier rate, so the monthly fee pays for itself quickly at moderate sales volumes. You gain API access for inventory integrations, a custom domain for your storefront, a featured seller badge, and priority placement in search results. **Break-even example:** If your monthly sales total $4,000, the difference between Basic (15%) and Professional (6.5%) saves you $340 in fees — more than covering the $100 fee difference. ### Enterprise — $2000/month For high-volume or enterprise operations. Unlimited listings, unlimited featured items, a dedicated account manager, and white-label options. Custom integrations allow connecting your existing ERP, inventory, or order management systems. An SLA guarantee covers platform uptime and support response times. --- ## Upgrading Your Tier Tier changes are processed by the CaratX team rather than being instant self-service upgrades. ### How to request an upgrade 1. Contact CaratX support through the Help & Support section of your dashboard, or email your account manager if you are on an existing paid tier. 2. Specify which tier you want to move to. 3. The team will review your account and confirm the change, typically within one business day. Your new tier takes effect from the next billing cycle. Transaction fees at the new rate apply immediately once the upgrade is confirmed. ### When to upgrade Consider upgrading when: - You are approaching your active listing limit and have to archive items to create room for new ones - Your monthly transaction fees on your current tier exceed the monthly fee of the next tier - You need bulk upload tools to manage a large catalogue - You want API access to automate inventory sync with an external system - You are spending time manually managing what a featured badge or priority placement would handle automatically If you are unsure which tier fits your business, contact support and they can model your current sales volume against each tier's fees. --- ## Notification Preferences Email notification preferences are managed at **My Account → Preferences** (`/profile/preferences`). ### Available preferences | Preference | Default | What it controls | |---|---|---| | **Order updates** | On | Shipping confirmations, status changes, delivery notifications | | **Security alerts** | On | Password changes, login from new devices | | **Newsletters** | On | CaratX platform news and updates | | **Promotional emails** | On | Sales events, featured opportunities, marketing | | **Product updates** | Off | New platform feature announcements | | **SMS notifications** | Off | Text message alerts (where available) | ### Delivery frequency You can set how often non-urgent emails are batched: - **Immediate** — Each notification is sent as it occurs - **Daily digest** — One summary email per day - **Weekly digest** — One summary email per week - **Monthly digest** — One summary email per month Order updates and security alerts are always sent immediately regardless of frequency setting. Turning off all non-essential preferences (newsletters, promotional, product updates) limits email to order confirmations and security alerts only. --- ## Security Security settings are managed at **My Account → Security** (`/profile/security`). ### Changing your password Your password must meet all of the following requirements: - Minimum 8 characters - At least one uppercase letter - At least one lowercase letter - At least one number - At least one symbol (e.g. `!@#$%^&*`) To change your password: 1. Go to **My Account → Security** 2. Enter your current password 3. Enter and confirm your new password 4. Optionally check **Sign me out after saving** — this logs all active sessions out and requires you to log in again with the new password ### Login history The Security page shows your 10 most recent logins including IP address and browser. Review this periodically to confirm all sessions are yours. If you see an unrecognised login, change your password immediately. ### If you cannot log in Use the **Forgot Password** link on the login page. A reset link will be sent to your registered email address and is valid for 24 hours. --- ## Understanding Your Account Limits ### Active listing cap Your tier sets the maximum number of **active** listings you can have at one time. Inactive, draft, and sold items do not count toward this limit — only items with active status. When you reach your cap, you must either deactivate or archive existing listings before publishing new ones. The platform will block the publish action and show a message indicating you have reached your limit. To see how many slots you have remaining, check **Dashboard → My Items**. The listing count in the page header shows your current active listings against your tier maximum. ### Featured item limit Featured items appear prominently on search results and category pages. Your tier determines how many items you can mark as featured simultaneously. Free accounts cannot feature any items. Basic accounts can feature up to 5 items at a time. If you want to feature a new item once you have reached your limit, you must remove the featured flag from an existing item first. ### What happens if your tier changes If your tier is downgraded (e.g. at your request or due to billing issues), items above the new limit are not automatically deactivated. However, you will not be able to publish new items until your active count falls below the new cap. Featured items above the new limit will remain featured but you will not be able to feature additional items.
