Your Storefront
## What is your storefront?
Every seller on CaratX gets a branded public page — your storefront. It is the first thing buyers see when they click your name. Think of it as your shop window: it shows who you are, what you sell, and why buyers should trust you.
Your storefront URL is unique to you and can be shared on social media, in emails, or anywhere you promote your business.
To manage your storefront, go to **Dashboard > Storefront Settings**.

## Basic Information
**Tagline** — A short phrase that sums up your store. Keep it under 255 characters. Example: *"Certified diamonds, delivered with care."*
**Store Description** — Tell buyers about your business. Who you are, what makes you different, how long you have been in the trade. Up to 5,000 characters. Plain text only.
**Established Year** — The year your business was founded. Adds credibility. You can choose whether to show this on your public page.
**Specializations** — A list of keywords describing what you focus on (e.g., "Fancy Color Diamonds", "Vintage Rings", "Lab-Grown"). Add as many as apply. These help buyers understand your niche at a glance.
**Typical Response Time** — How quickly you respond to buyer messages (in hours). Example: 4 hours. You can choose whether to display this.

## Branding: Banner and Gallery
### Banner Image
Your banner appears at the top of your storefront page. It is the most visible branding element.
- Go to the **Media** tab in Storefront Settings
- Upload a JPEG, PNG, or GIF up to 5 MB
- Recommended size: 1200 x 400 px or wider
- Uploading a new banner automatically removes the old one
### Gallery Photos
The gallery shows additional photos beneath your banner — product shots, workspace images, certifications, or anything that builds buyer confidence.
- Upload multiple images at once (JPEG, PNG, or GIF, up to 5 MB each)
- To remove a photo, click the delete button next to it in the gallery
- Photos appear in the order they were uploaded

## Policies
Buyers read your policies before purchasing. Clear policies reduce disputes and build trust.
Go to the **Policies** tab to set:
- **Return Policy** — What you accept back and under what conditions. Example: *"Returns accepted within 14 days. Item must be in original condition with certificate."*
- **Shipping Policy** — How and when you ship. Example: *"All orders ship within 2 business days via insured courier."*
- **Payment Terms** — What payment methods you accept and any conditions. Example: *"Bank transfer and credit card accepted. Wire transfers must clear before shipping."*
Each field allows up to 5,000 characters. You can toggle policy visibility on or off under the **Display Settings** tab.

## Business Hours
Let buyers know when you are available.
Go to the **Business Hours** tab. For each day of the week:
- Set an opening and closing time (24-hour format)
- Or mark the day as **Closed**
Default hours are Monday–Friday 9:00–17:00, Saturday 10:00–14:00, Sunday closed.
You can choose whether to display your hours on your public storefront under **Display Settings**.

## FAQs
Answer common questions before buyers have to ask them.
Go to the **FAQs** tab and add question-and-answer pairs. Each question can be up to 500 characters; each answer up to 2,000 characters. Add as many as you need.
Good FAQ topics:
- Do you offer custom work?
- Are certificates included?
- Do you ship internationally?
- How do I care for this piece?
You can show or hide the FAQ section from **Display Settings**.

## Social Media Links
Link your social profiles so buyers can follow you and verify your presence.
Go to the **Social Media** tab and enter your handles for:
- Instagram
- Facebook
- Twitter / X
- LinkedIn
- YouTube
- Telegram
- WhatsApp (phone number)
You do not need to include the `@` symbol — it is added automatically. Enter only what you have; all fields are optional.
Toggle social link visibility on or off under **Display Settings**.

## Storefront Status
Your status controls whether buyers can see and purchase from your store. Change it any time from the **Change Status** button at the top of Storefront Settings.

| **Active with Delayed Fulfillment** | Full storefront + a delay notice you write | Yes |
| **Away — Browse Only** | Storefront visible, items visible, a message shown | No |
| **Away — Items Hidden** | Storefront shows your away message only; items unlisted | No |
| **Disabled** | Storefront returns a 404 error; completely hidden | No |
**When to use each:**
- **Active** — Normal operation. Use this by default.
- **Active with Delayed Fulfillment** — You are open but experiencing delays (travel, high volume, sourcing). Buyers can still buy; they just know to expect longer shipping. Write a short explanation, e.g., *"Orders may take 5–7 extra days due to holiday travel."*
- **Away — Browse Only** — Short vacation. Buyers can still discover and wishlist your items, but cannot check out. Good for breaks of a few days.
- **Away — Items Hidden** — Longer absence where you do not want items showing in search. Your storefront is still reachable but shows your message only. Write a return estimate, e.g., *"Taking a break, back June 15th."*
- **Disabled** — Use only if you are permanently closing your store or have been asked to suspend it. Buyers who visit your URL get a 404 error.
A status message is required for Away modes. It is displayed to buyers visiting your storefront.

## SEO Settings
Search engine optimization (SEO) helps buyers find your storefront through Google and other search engines.
Go to the **SEO** tab to set:
- **Meta Title** — The page title shown in search results. If left blank, CaratX uses your store name. Keep it under 60 characters. Example: *"Brilliant Cut Diamonds — Jane's Gem Studio on CaratX"*
- **Meta Description** — The short summary shown below the title in search results. Up to 160 characters. Write a sentence that would make someone click. Example: *"Shop certified natural and lab-grown diamonds from a GIA-trained gemologist. Free insured shipping on all orders."*
- **Meta Keywords** — A comma-separated list of search terms relevant to your store. Example: *"fancy color diamonds, GIA certified, diamond rings, natural sapphires"*
These fields are optional but recommended if you want your storefront to appear in search results outside CaratX.
